Mineral Wells Hike

The Mineral Wells Hike is a fun adventure in Los Angeles that traverses the hilly terrain of Griffith Park. While out on the trail, you will climb uphill and loop around the undulating landscape, taking in the sprawling views of L.A. that extend in every direction. This hiking route is fairly exposed to the sun, so be sure to wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water, especially on warmer days.

Route Description for Mineral Wells Hike
While it certainly follows a busy trail, the Mineral Wells Hike is a great adventure within Griffith Park that shouldn’t be missed. Be sure to arrive early in order to secure parking.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way west past the old zoo, before looping around Bee rock. Here, the trail will turn south, leading you through the hills for an amazing sightline across the city at the Vista Viewpoint. From here, the path turns back to the north through Fern Canyon and back past the zoo to return to the trailhead.
