Hike and bike in the remote Swedish wilderness
Can’t choose between a biking and hiking adventure in Sweden? No need to pick! The Bike & Hike in Sweden’s Wilderness tour is an ideal active adventure for anyone who wants to enjoy the natural scenery of Sweden through different activities.
This adventurous tour will have you whizzing down exhilarating downhills sections in a bike park, trying your hand at big climbs or just cruising around the easier trails. You’ll take on a big hiking day, earning panoramic views over the mountains of the Jämtland region and savouring lunch cooked over an open fire. Tired of all that action? Kick back in a sauna, taking part in a Swedish ritual, and then tuck into big, warm plates of locally-grown food each night. The Bike & Hike in Sweden’s Wilderness tour is the perfect active escape in unforgettable Sweden!
You’ll be picked up by your guide to begin your tour, making your way onto the little island that Frösö is on. Freshen up and get changed, because there’s no time to waste here!
Start riding along the trails just outside the hotel door, enjoying winding trails surrounded by lush greenery. Your guide will share local stories during your breaks. You’ll end up back at the hotel in time for dinner.
Enjoy breakfast and prepare to transfer to a network of nearby trails. You’ll ride in the Fugelsta bike park, enjoying some uphills, downhills, and everything in between. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ll stop to eat an outdoor lunch of reindeer, potato, and lingonberry rolls (bet that’s a first!) prepared on an open fire.
Ride more in the afternoon before returning to the hotel to clean up before dinner at a great local restaurant.
Check out of your hotel and take the train to Undersåker, your new home base. Here, you’ll drop your bags and drive to your trailhead in Edsåsdalen. Trek through a gorgeous forest, making it up to the “fjäll”, the open area above the treeline where the views are unbeatable. Eat lunch around a fire, then descend through a valley.
Back at the hotel, sweat it out in the sauna before dinner.
Enjoy breakfast before hopping in the car to transfer into the mountains. Your trail begins near Vallbo, a tiny mountain village. You’ll hike well-travelled trails through unusual landscapes, carved out many years ago by retreating glaciers.
Once your epic hike is complete, it’s back to the hotel for a sauna and dinner.
Enjoy a bit of a sleep in this morning after your big day yesterday, then pack up after breakfast and bid Sweden “adjö.”
It’s possible to pre-book additional days if you’d like to enjoy more hiking, biking, or other activities.

I’ve been using 10A route guides for a while, but had never booked a tour. My wife and I booked a self-guided hike in Greece and were so impressed with how we were able navigate the route without a guide with the detailed and easy to follow itinerary. We enjoy travelling independently, and 10A made that happen.

I’ve adventured around a lot of Canada and the US, but I’ve always wanted to explore other parts of the world. I felt a bit scared before booking my trip to Israel, but my conversations with the team at 10Adventures helped ease any worry. I can’t wait to explore more of the world!

Travel companies have had to go through a lot during the pandemic but 10Adventures were super flexible and accommodating nonetheless. I had to cancel my tour in France due to the pandemic. 10Adventures was great and let me reschedule for a later date!

Whenever I’m looking for my next adventure 10Adventures never fails. Their routes all over England are my main go to for exploring and I have only had great experiences booking both guided and self-guided trips in Europe and South America with them. I am looking into Africa next.

I just got back from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, and WOW. What an unreal journey! The alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the lakeside camping spot were memorable highlights! I wonder what other tours 10Adventures has to offer. That one went so well that I am now convinced I need to book another!

I'm not a big fan of traveling because of my fear of flying, but my girlfriend convinced me to go on the Aurora Borealis Tour in the Yukon. I will never forget the mesmerizing northern lights. Such a romantic (and cold) getaway. I would highly recommend it.
